Fields of application

Scales chosen for the work you do, with the approval and precision your sector requires.

Precision or analytical?

Precision balances read from 0.001 g to 1 g, with capacities from a few hundred grams up to 25 kg. If you need 0.1 mg or less, choose one of the analytical balances. Read more: analytical or precision.

Internal or external calibration

With internal calibration the balance adjusts itself with a built-in weight, for example when the temperature changes. External calibration needs a test weight. For frequent weighing at milligram level, internal is the better choice. Read more: internal or external.

Quality and audits

If the balance is part of an ISO 9001 or GMP quality system, add a calibration report or an ACCREDIA certificate. For production and warehouses see the industrial precision scales.

FAQ about Laboratory precision balances

What is the difference between d and e?
d is the resolution shown on the display; e is the verification interval used for legal-for-trade approval. On verifiable balances e is often 10 times d.
Do I need a legal-for-trade balance in the lab?
Only if the result has legal value, for example in pharmacy compounding or third-party testing. For internal use a calibrated balance is enough.
Can I connect it to a PC?
Many models have RS-232 or USB: the outputs are listed on each product page.
