Fields of application

Scales chosen for the work you do, with the approval and precision your sector requires.

Which weight class to choose

The class of the test weight must have a tolerance at least three times tighter than the error you want to check on the scale.

  • E1, E2 — For scales: Analytical and micro balances, metrology laboratories
  • F1 — For scales: Precision with 0.001-0.01 g readability
  • F2 — For scales: Class II-III precision and commercial
  • M1 — For scales: Commercial and industrial

Certificate and recertification

A test weight is only useful if its value is documented. The ACCREDIA certificate states conventional value and uncertainty; recertification is typically done every 1-2 years depending on use.

FAQ about Certified test weights

What is the difference between class F1 and M1?
F1 has much tighter tolerances and suits precision balances; M1 is enough for commercial and industrial scales.
How should test weights be stored?
In their case, handled with tweezers or gloves, in a clean and dry environment: fingerprints and dust alter their value.
